We got a good look at what 18s are in the blow! Sailing on Wentworth Courrier in the first time in 25 knots, Geoff and I realised that 18s are manageable in hight winds but you have to be perfectly in synch.
We manage one lap and than started to capsize downwind. That was it for our day as the regular crew for this boat started to be scared we would brake stuff.
Over all a good learning experience : I will have to do it again!

Dimanche était ma première journée en temps que skipper d'un 18 pied de la League Australienne. Il y avait 25 noeuds de vent ce qui était aussi le maximum de vent dans lequel Geoff et moi avions naviguer en 18 pieds.
Tout a bien commencé, nous étions en contrôl avant le départ et durant le premier tour de parcours. Avec le spi ça s'est compliqué et nous avons chaviré dans un empannage. C'était la fin de notre essai. Notre troisième équipier (de l'équipage régulier de Wentworth Courrier) voulait rentrer pour ne rien casser sur le bateau.
Nous avons beaucoup appris et il faut qu'on recommence :)
